What’s stopping pro players cut by NFL teams from going back to play college ball?

Assuming they have eligibility left. They could earn a good check

That’s a pretty decent question.. The NCAA has 0 teeth anymore. Who’s going to stop someone that went pro junior year with 1 year eligibility

Let's go. I'm down for it. The slope has slipped. Let's have a great time careening down the mountain.

Eligibility ceases when a pro contract is signed

It is an absurd question to ask, but as the NCAA continues to lose in court, the "four years of eligibility" could be the next thing to be challenged.

If the NCAA has no teeth, then what does eligibility even mean? Eligibility are standards they set. Why just 1 year, why not go back to play 10 more years of college football?

The NCAA literally suspended the head coach of the #1 team in the country for 4 games for having a meal with a recruit during a dead period.

They have since issued further allegations against said coach and school.

This shouldn’t matter anymore since players are making millions in college. I can see this challenge coming.

I believe it’s when an agent is signed

You’re totally right.

Johnny Manziel return campaign coming soon.

33 year old, 11 year NFL vet Michael Brockers still had 2 years of eligibility left. Come on back. Totally fair because 18 year olds can get paid now.

I think the rules stop this, and also I think it would apply to very, very few people.

The whole point of the rule is your lose your eligibility when you become a professional since college is amateur. College is not amateur anymore.

It absolutely is. They’re not playing against professionals.
They’re allowed to make money based off of their name, image, & likeness as an amateur - that doesn’t make them a professional.

I could see it. NFL could send guys down and back up similar to other pro sports minor leagues

College has been trying to blur the lines. Look at how fast college has changed in the last 5 years for anyone unable to open their eyes and look 20 years down the road.

Why even have eligibility? Let players play as long as they want, no limit on years.
