I don't see how being an Alabama fan has anything to do with that. The majority of our Poll Era titles have occurred in the last 30 years and they came after defeating the following teams in the postseason:

1992-93: #1 Miami
2009-10: #2 Texas
2011-12: #1 LSU
2012-13: #1 Notre Dame
2015-16: #1 Clemson
2017-18: #3 Georgia
2020-21: #3 Ohio State

All of that $$ is made possible by people caring.

If it is going to be minor-league NFL, a lot of people are going to stop caring. People already don't go to games like they used to.
