Redskins punter Tress Way, who threw one pass last year on a fake punt, needs to talk to his agent to get more money since he apparently started a game at QB last year according to Stephen A. Smith

He's smart. He says ridiculous stuff that people post about and talk about which gives him viewers, and job stability. He's just playing to the gullibility of the public

Then why does he have a job?

What you're describing is probably the easiest thing to do in television.

"Hey Lebron sucks!"

The fact that this keeps happening and ESPN allows him to keep a job speaks volumes about the state of ESPN.

I agree with you I think he’s actually very intelligent, he just dumbs everything down to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Skip is the same way

I think it probably started out as honest mistakes and then he realized how much it got people talking about him and now he’s created a schtick out of it. His job isn’t to be an accurate or informative analyst, it’s to get his name out there as much as possible. And when that’s the case no publicity is bad publicity so he might as well throw shite at the wall.

When Stephen A is acting like his normal self he has very intelligent takes, specifically basketball. Unfortunately, he more times than not is playing up to his persona which is very grating. Its also annoying when he starts name dropping players on NFL, MLB and college sports because that is when you can tell he has no clue what he is talking about.

Yea, but this is pure laziness on his part. He simply did a quick google search and saw that the guy threw a pass and assumed he was a qb.

The Stephen A Smith that was on the radio about 10 years ago is not the same Stephen A Smith that is on tv today. One is intelligent and well spoken and knows what he is talking about, the other just yells into the camera for three hours every morning.
