Yeah except those times MJ didn't even make it to May. He was really great those years.

Good thing Scottie came to the rescue.

So if LeBron never made that Finals and never had that opportunity to choke in June then he's GOAT? That's stupid-arse logic and you know it.

Winning 6 rings not 3-5.

So if LeBron was 3-0, his legacy would be better than 3-5 and ACTUALLY MAKING THE FINALS? Yeah, that's a weak point bruh Bill Russell has more rings than both, the 6-0 argument only gets you so far but not to victory since you're placing so much weight on it. Scottie's 6-0 in Finals too.

Michael Jordan led his team to a wire to wire dominant Olympic gold medal performance. Lebron lost in the Olympics to a bunch of white guys, all of whom were probably inspired to pick up the game of basketball due to Michael Jordan's electrifying career that transcended sport and informed the culture of the day.

Jordan is such a national treasure that he happily sported a Hitler mustache for one of his Hanes ads.

When asked why he chose such a controversial fashion statement, Jordan replied "because it looks good, because I like it, and because I'm Michael Jordan."

LeBron doesn't lose in the first round. Michael Jordan did multiple times

Jordan lost primarily to Boston or Detroit... LeBron never ran into teams like that.

You seriously comparing 2004 to 1984/1992 when LeBron was like the 8-9th guy off the bench and MJ was the undisputed no. 1 player on those teams? GTFO with that illogical nonsense

Lebron didn't shoot a terrific percentage from the field in that 7 game series vs SA

Is that the same series Bosh scored 1 point?

You may need to recheck his numbers in those games.

Hamma thinks MJ is far from GOAT too, if we're keeping score at home.

Here is the thing. Jordan did things that most people had never seen before. So everyone who had the opportunity to see it will always have him as the goat. When you package that with rings it adds up.
What LeBron is doing is just as impressive, but unfortunately for him, Jordan was the first of his kind. Some will say he wasn't, but really think about all the acrobatic shite he was doing in the air, it was crazy at that time. Jordan was bigger than basketball. The movies, the videos, the massive shoe deal, all of that. LeBron may very well be the goat but the argument won't ever be settled.

I agree with your overall premise but Lebron is quite literally breaking playoff records every game he plays, so he's doing things we've never seen before either.

This is basically the Jimi Hendrix vs. Prince argument analogy: Jimi did things the world had never seen before and was exceptionally talented, Prince was as talented if not more talented as the predecessor and did some additional things we never saw in that process. Same logic applies to Jordan vs LeBron here.

Yeah that's why he could be/become the goat.
I'm a huge Jordan fan and a lot of it was because I watched him when I was a kid and he was simply the best anyone had seen. Doing things that just made your jaw drop. Lebron is doing the same thing just wasn't the first player we were in awe of, so in a lot of people's eyes he will never be able to be the goat. Lebron may finish top dog in everything, who knows.
