I really don't have much of a problem with the comments from the stands. I view that as part of the game....The "you missed that"...."Horrible call"...Kinda stuff. Its the ones who tag along with Moscona and his "officials are just horrible at their job" bullshite.

So, do something about it! Get out there and teach the officials how it has to be done. Put your arse on the line and show how good you are. Or, just sit back after the fact and whine like a little bitch.

I knew a guy who was an LHSAA field alternate for varsity games and an on-field official for JV games. He was not someone who really was smart enough to do any of that. They’ll take almost anyone so you get what you get.

do you know the mechanics of each position and what they are supposed to be looking at as well as the guidelines on calling a foul or not?

Rules yes, and have a good idea of responsibilities, mechanics I can't say that I do, as I've never had any training officiating the sport. I've officiated other sport(s) at higher levels with significantly higher stakes than what we are discussing in this post though, and officiating HS football is a no thank you for me, and that's why I'm not one of the ones up there yelling at them, but damn sometimes its really bad out there.
