There are many different angles/moments of this event to choose from so it was hard to pick, but the message is the most impactful.

Most of the battle happened in a walled courtyard in front of "The Alamo," which was simply a chapel. The battleground is now covered by the street and buildings across from the shrine (the state plans to restore it to alleviate confused ignorance such as yours).

Just for that comment, I'll submit my contribution -- the only time a President of the United States declared a college football national champion.
