8 team would have been Ole Miss/Moo State debate and 2 team would have been Oregon/FSU debate.

Except that the system affects the votes. If you know there are only two teams with a shot at the title, FSU is in because they're an undefeated P5. The debate is Bama or Oregon.

That isn't really a great 8 team field. There are no mid-majors and you have a few teams who failed to win their conference and are getting a mulligan.

There would be some years where you might get Boise State and Notre Dame but this isn't one of them.

I'm starting to like 6 better--top five conference champs based on an RPI (regardless of P5 status), and one wild card (a conference runner-up or an independent) chosen by the same criteria.

How Many games do you want college kids to play?? 15 games for championship is even too much.

That how many games FCS, Div II & Div III, and high school leagues play to win their national/State championships.

What did you forget about that?

Not only that, but I'm pretty sure the next four teams outside of this year's top 4 wouldn't tell you "I'm glad we didn't get in. We're tired."

I like eight teams. The five champs plus the three at large.

The reality is that the FCS schools have a 10 game schedule. If you think a power 5 AD is going to turn down 2 extra home games worth of revenue you are sadly mistaken.

Teams need to use those extra games as playoff quality OOC matchups or face the sadness that TCU and Baylor feel.

4 teams is plenty. We're arguing about who is the best team in the country, and the previous complaining was "did we get #2 right". Now it's "did we get #3 and #4 right". I don't think team #5 really has a right to bitch. To quote ricky bobby, "if y'aint first you're last".
