the big12 really doesn't have a great bowl structure

just look at all the holiday bowls UT went to back in the day

there needs to be more spreading of conferences among the bowls. far too many big10-SEC matchups

well yeah

i'll give it the nod this year

but i don't think OSU or Mizzou are great teams at all. they just got overrated due to shite schedules early on.

the big12 in 2008 is what i usually is: a 2-team conference

TT is good, they would be the 3rd best team in the SEC,

The SEC this year is a 2 team league.

Not great, but good, Compare 3,4,5 from the SEC (UGA/OM/LSU) to the Big 12 (TT/OSU/Mizzo).

The bBg 12 (and Pac 10 definitely need better Bowl tie ins.

I agree with OSU and Mizzou they are middle of the pack teams along with TT, they are a one year wonder and yeah they did beat Texas on a last second play. But look at the last 5 to 7 years and see where they fall in the conference.

maybe

that offense in a more physical league would face some problems. and their D really is not that good

TT is a team that i don't think would translate to the SEC. just too soft

Texas Tech would be no better than 5th in the SEC. They had one good year, they will fall back into their normal spot next season.

i mean TT is a good team, but they are just soft. they fit in the big12 really well b/c the big12 is soft also

but they'd wear down over the course of a year in a more physical conference.

for instance, look at the ACC. they'd win it, but not look nearly as good doing so

OU has a great team every year they played in a BCS Bowl and they lost.

what about the year they went undefeated and won the NC?

OU best football team of all time going into the Big 12 champioship game and then they lose to LSU in 2003.

Was OU proclaiming themselves that or was that just the media?

OU undefeated, blown out by USC 2004.

that was a piss poor performance, but USC '04 was one of the greatest teams of all time. No shame in losing to them.

OU solid team and then embarassed by Boise State.

I'm not sure that was an embarrassing loss, really. Helluva game. Boise State was actually pretty good that year.

It is extremely hard to win NCs. And for all the shite he takes on here, Stoops has a very good shot at becoming the 1st coach to ever win 2 BCS NCs.

shitty Ds

non-physical football in general

hell any NFL prospect from the #2 team in the league has a huge red flag next to them SOLELY b/c they went to texas, b/c texas puts out incredibly soft guys into the NFL year after yera

but it's more than just NCs

in the big12, with his money and recruiting roots in texas, getting to a BCS bowl isn't that hard

where is the BCS success?

Im guessing your a Stanford or the S just goes with your name but you put just this year's Texas team against any team in the PAC 10, Big 10 and i'll even go SEC and tell me how many games they lose. I say maybe 1(Florida).

Why do the goal posts keep getting moved back for him and Mack Brown? Their predecessors didn't have nearly the results that they have. To poo- poo winning the Big 12 and NCs is absurd. And I don't really give 2 shits about either one, personally. But I have a healthy respect for the monster programs they have built.

irrelevant

just b/c the previous coaches sucked doesn't mean that they can be mediocre and get a pass

i mean dinardo was better than hallman. what does that say? not much

your standard for "mediocrity" is absurd. You were the one who said with all their resources, they could sleepwalk to championships. Well, the guys before them had the same resources, but sucked cock.

First of all, I don't agree that it's a 2-team conference. Nebraska, Kansas State, and Colorado from the north have all have success in the past 10 years. And Okie State and Texas Tech are both good this year. But even it is a 2 conference, can't you see how that is only because Mack Brown and Bob Stoops turned it into that?

Don't make the mistake of comparing this team with the past couple of OU BCS teams.
Sam Bradford is better than Josh Huepel and Jason White easily. They will give Florida a great game. Looking forward to seeing it.

True, but it's not like OU lost in BCSNCGs to a bunch of scrubs. That '03 LSU team had one of the best defenses in recent history, and USC was just a fugging juggernaut in '04. And even if Florida beats them, playing in 4 NCGs in 9 years is very impressive.
