Wade Richey kicked barefoot when he was at LSU in the mid 90s, but wore a shoe in the NFL.

Just an idea, but the barefoot kickers grew up in the 60’s and 70’s i knew a lot of kids that spent the entire summer bare footed, probably just started out kicking that way and never stopped. Anyway thats a sight you rarely see anymore seems by the 80’s everyone was wearing converse or nikes so the barefooted kicker died out.
