I guess I don't understand what they were supposed to do.
Would Haskins have made him a hero? It's a QB who a number of people had a 1st round grade on. He took one of them, and it's a guy who has worked with a coach who Eli has worked with, so transitioning knowledge may be easier

I think this is a case of people who don't really watch CFB looking at the logo on the player's helmet and freaking out b/c he didn't play for a traditional power.

Jones in a vacuum isn’t necessarily the issue.
It is the complete and utter clusterfrick that the Giants’ front office has been the past few seasons with this as a culmination of it.
As mentioned in another thread, they chose Jones, Barkley, and two more guys at replaceable positions over Sam Darnold, OBJ, and some top defensive prospects.

Did you see the footage of Daniel Jones last year at Duke. This is the biggest blunder since Jimbo Fisher got Christian Ponder picked in the 12th spot back in '11.

This post is so "look at me, I'm a cfb expert" it hurts.
Daniel Jones isn't that good. He got the hype because he's the prototypical QB size that people gush about in the combine and he was with cutcliffe.
