That seems like a lot more work tha. Squatting behind my ball and then making the putt

I rarely really misread a putt.
However my stroke can be awful. Let my tempo get too fast a lot.

greens around here usually 8-9
which is awful. All greens should be mandated to be 10+

I do aimpoint only if I cant read the putt. Its pretty quick with express

I'm the same way
I lag putt pretty well so I hate to frick that up by overthinking it but on the other hand, I want to improve and make more birdies

No way. No no way. Gonna see some shitty greens if that were the case.

I do this. I figure the harder you hit it, the less break you need to play.

why is it so hard to have fast greens? Just about every course I played for the last 3 yrs was at a 10+ speed.

you also under read the break. as most amateurs do
before I started using it I always under read the breaks.
my last 2 rounds, I have made 12 birdies, Ive never done that

Ole man, I'm not sure you remember the putting academy I put on at Snatch last year. I'll have to remind you soon

when my brother lived in Utah all the greens were at least 10 maybe faster only courses here like that would be ccla and u-club

I hit the ball like shot but I was walking them in from 15 feet that day

In South Florida. Probably lot more play and a bigger budget than the public courses around BR. Not to mention a completely different climate. No harsh winters to weaken the green, no need for covers, and worry about winter kill.
Course expectations are already way too high. Budgets have been shrinking for years now, and the cost of equipment, fuel, labor, etc. has continued to go up.
It's a lot more than just cutting them lower or rolling it. Every time you lower the mowing height you are reducing root mass. Reducing root mass is the last thing you wanna do in the middle of the summer, regardless of the type of grass.
Weak spots become weaker, good spots become weak, and great spots become good. Mowing bermuda low, you gotta keep an aggressive verticutting and topdressing schedule, which pisses golfers off as well.
I'd also be surprised if every course down there is running 10+ every day. Scottish Open was only running 10.4".

Greystone was pretty slow Saturday but they've been pretty fast lately
I had a pitch stop on number 4 Saturday that should has never stopped on any other day
I thought I hit a perfect shot and ended up with a downhill 7 footer that was STEEP

most courses posted green speeds in the pro shop everyday. I know for sure that lake nona never runs below 12 everyday 365
