There are many examples of this, but possibly the most prominent/noticeable (definitely this year) is the frequency with which backup QBs come in for average/below average starters and the offense immediately and consistently gets better. We'll see what happens in Chicago over time since it looks like Trubisky really fricked his arm/shoulder up, but Chase Daniel came in and the offense looked better than it has all year. Kyle Allen unquestionably is a better pocket quarterback right now than Cam. Daniel Jones is so much better than Eli its laughable Eli took a single snap as the starter this year, and the Giants might be 3-1 had he started from the beginning. We've seen a lot of this in college the last few years as well.

The point is, either there is a rash of "gamers" who suck in practice or coaches all over the place are making irrational personnel decisions. This goes for a lot of positions, QB is just the most obvious.

You left off your list of options the whole we spent much more money on one guy and have to figure out if it was a good investment or not.

This is why Belichick is the best. Zero sentimentality. Even Tom has to fight every year

Eli Manning has been in the league 16 years and Daniel Jones is a first round pick

And Cam is on the wrong side of 30 and since he was drafted in 2011 has had a total of two seasons that could be considered good by any objective metric.

Daniel Jones has 4 turnovers in two starts and he played Tampa Bay and Washington. Eli played against two very good defenses with Dallas and Buffalo. We will know more about Jones after the next two weeks when he faces 2 of the best defenses in football. Giants are probably 1-3 or 2-2 with either QB starting. This happens all the time in the NFL and teams will adjust. All it takes is one team to find a player weakness and everyone will try to use it.
