June would have had a winning record had he not straight up quit caring b/c he was butthurt his job at Arizona State fell through. He wouldn't even leave his office to recruit local players. He wanted kids to send him tapes to review.
Morris was on his way had he stayed. He jumped to Arkansas way too early though I can see why any coach would since his pay doubled.
SMU is putting a shitload more money into the program these days. The days of the admin purposely starving the program are well gone. Any average coach is going to be able to win there at this point.

I was consulting in Dallas a couple years ago and went to an SMU game when SMU was undefeated. There were tons of empty seats.
I guess you can blame that on playing Tulsa, but I don’t think the fan support is there regardless of the money. Especially if they’re stuck with the remaining American.
That was a great game though.
