The talent was so down...with a few struggling stars - Palmer was heralded when he came to USC but had been a flop under Hackett.

A year before Pete arrived, USC lost to Oregon State - breaking their 26 game winning streak against the Beavers. Petros Papadakis, a team captain for the season and current broadcaster, claims he was "the captain of the worst football team in USC history." 5-7 (2-6 in conference)

Pete went 6-6; 5-3 conference) his first year and it was considered a success.

With his own recruits, Pete went 69-8 (.896) the next 6 seasons.

Saban went 8-4 his first year after LSU went 3-8 the year before. It seems LSU might have had some talent but just bad coaching.

Wow. Just wow. And to think there's really people (Rocket) trying to under sell PC and what SC accomplished under him and to this day.

Wouldn't the fact that Palmer improved be a sign that it was coaching not a lack of talent?

That's relative to other USC teams.

It seems as if Rocket is a known troll and was trolling this entire thread.

Check out this thread.

Seems as if some guys on the Help Board know of Rocket's troll history.

Knew he had to be trolling with some of his retarded "beliefs" in this thread.

He would have NOT have done that in the SEC. Even with ALL that talent. Sorry its true.

Alabama is 48-6 the last 4 years. Not a stretch to say they lose no more than 4 games the next 2 years.

People have acknowledged the job he did there. Sorry if that's not enough for you.

I realize this, But don't tell me for ONE second that the Pac-10 is/was better than the SEC in the 2000's.

You acknowledged PC as a "good coach." He was more than a "good coach." One of the greatest coaches in college football history.

Not saying it was, but that's not saying PC couldn't have had the same success in the SEC that he did in the PAC.

SC's run under PC is similar to Bama's current run under Saban.

I have no obligation to worship the ground Pete Carroll walks on. He's not the first nor the last to win at USC.

How much in heaven would you be if you were naked in bed with both Pete Carroll and Lane Kiffin at the same time?

How do you have people like Vince Dooley on the list but not Neyland, Bowden, etc.?

And I'm assuming you're counting Carroll's sanctions against him. Otherwise, some other names shouldn't be on the list.
