USC is "back"

ESPN is saying that USC is back. Where did they go? IMO, they've been the same overrated, mediocre, offensively small/fast, defensively weak team for a few years now. The AP's love affair with USC is nauseating. However, 5 of the top 10 teams are SEC!

If they were as good as ESPN claims they are, they wouldn't be losing games at home to 40-point underdogs starting third-string quarterbacks.

Overrated? Maybe...
Small on offense? Not so much
Weak Defense? Only against the SEC, but then they're still pretty decent.

Or do you mean LSU/Bama but like to say...SEC to sound like the whole conference has LSU/Bama defenses?
That's like saying the PAC 10 was undefeated against the SEC when only USC was undefeated against them.

I don't mean the conference as a whole. They'd be ranked probably 4/5 in the conference in defense. LSU/BAMA are 1/2 without a doubt. There is always a shocking team that has a damn good defense one year.
I don't think USC is bad at defense, and they could handle the SEC but they're "above average" in the SEC. Instead of "excellent" in the PAC/B1G/B12.
