lulz...you won't feel the sanctions for another year or two.

Our team is made up of underclassmen. That's the beauty of it. Provided they stay healthy, we'll be shooting for a BCS bowl next season.
Heck, if not for sanctions I reckon we'd be a good shout for one this season.

Not gonna lie. With USC finishing out like this, I'd say their gonna be a big time force next season.
LSU has 2 games left to win to close out one of the most impressive seasons of all time.
Both teams are littered with underclassmen. If key guys come back (LSU - Randle, USC - Barkley) on both teams we could be heading for an epic showdown in January 2013. The only thing to compare it to would be when USC and Texas went wire to wire as #1 and 2 in 2005 which concluded in arguably the greatest national championship game of all time.
We're still tied together after the 2003 debacle...could we finally be deciding it the field with both teams at their absolute pinnacle? I for one hope so

If there was a magical USC-LSU title game, no matter who won, it would have nothing to do with the 2003 season.

I don't understand how UCLA can be so perpetually bad in football. The sit in one of the best recruiting areas yet still field such poor teams year in and year out.

If you've ever seen the two campus' you'd understand. And UCLA probably doesn't cheat as well as USC.

Uh, about that.
In 2008 allegations surfaced indicating the UCLA Medical Center received a $100,000 donation from a Japanese mob boss, after providing him and three other Japanese "yakuza" gangsters with liver transplants between 2000-2004. During that same period hundreds of Americans in the Los Angeles area died while awaiting liver transplants. According to the LA Times, the generous donation came from Tadamasa Goto, 65, ringleader of the Goto-gumi gang. A plaque on an entryway to a surgery office in the hospital reads,
"In grateful recognition of the Goto Research Fund established through the generosity of Mr. Tadamasa Goto."
Then there's that whole Sam Gilbert thing...

They're capable of cheating at basketball and liver transplants, fake handicap parking placards, and God knows what else. It's not our fault they suck at football.

I'm not talking deciding the 2003 issue...that can never be done. I'm talking about the resentment between the fan bases towards each other since then claiming their team could beat the other. We haven't played each other in ages so finally getting on the field together would be pretty epic, especially considering it'd be the MNC

quote:I remember the 1979 game and thinking of it as just another USC win. It wasn't until LSU killed us at a game I went to in 1984 that I had any idea of who LSU was. I have wanted USC to play LSU ever since, but it has not happened.

For me, the USC AP vs. LSU BCS thing in 2003 was never a big deal. USC had split National Titles before with Oklahoma and Alabama (78) in my experience, so it was nothing new. My LSU friends looked at it MUCH differently. They hadn't won a Championship since the Billy Cannon years, and they had no idea they'd be winning a couple more in the near future, so they were very covetous of it.
For some LSU fans it's still an issue. I perceive that many have moved on, in light of LSU's recent and unprecedented success.

Not to rehash this, but Its wasn't a big deal to me either. I KNEW who the BETTER team was all along. I will say that USC belonged over OU, But would have lost to LSU anyway.
