Shots o goal at 18-4 for the US means the Swiss are not playing very good D. No score means their goalie is hot. Like in baseball, where a good pitcher can keep you in a game, so can a good goalie. But eventually they will get to this guy with as many shots as they are getting on him. Meanwhile, allowing only 4 SOG means the US is playing very stout defense.

We'll be OK. They played yesterday, we've been off for two. I figured they'd come out with more energy. We've weathered the storm and just need to keep putting the puck up high to solve Hiller. They'll tire and we'll take over.

Canada was only up 1-0 on Germany after one last night, and then ended 8-2.

14-4 on shots? Goals will come.

And to answer an earlier complaint, you tend to want to shoot low due to the higher likeliehood of a rebound. Create traffic, shoot low, put in the trash. That's how you beat an outmatched team with a great goalie.

the commentator keeps saying to put shots high, i'm guessing that's why people keep saying it on here.

I think US wins 2-0 first junk goal on deflection...Empty net seals it with 30 secs left.

Yeah, I don't have a feed. But if you shoot high, won't Hiller just glove it? You want those second chance shots. It's all about rebounds against a hot goalie. You aren't likely to beat him on the first shot. And I'm assuming the US forwards can beat the Swiss defenders to the puck.

The announcers are saying that Hiller is going low on every shot. They feel the opportunity is there for waist to chest high shots.

They just said something that makes a lot of sense, you have to get him moving side to side because if he's looking right at you he's going to save it every time. He seems like he's quick to react to a shot which would be used against him.
