They want him to hold it up up top. I can understand having the physical target up there to slow down the game and waste time.
but that being said it's not like we are serving any balls up there well at this point.

tactically the US messed up since their first sub.
At that point Clark should have come off for Feilhaber not Jozy who was still playing very well at that point. Next should have been Dempsey, but then he scored so now we have someone who is completely gassed and is not tracking back on defense.
