I would have guessed he was a pretty big underdog like that against Rafa in Rome that year, but not at Roland Garros

How is the biggest match of the tournament not on cable?

To force hundreds of thousands of schmoes like us to pay for their Peacock subscription service.

NBC is a complete joke. They pay all this money for these rights, then let Tennis Channel take most of the tournament. NBC is picking coverage at 11 eastern.

People wonder why tennis isn’t popular here and can’t seem to catch on.

shite like this is why.

Of course it’s a morning match on a weekday here, but for most of the world it’s something you plan your day around.

Federer/Nadal in 2019.
Djokovic/Nadal in 2021.
Djokovic/Nadal in 2022.
Djokovic/Alcaraz in 2023.

The biggest match of the French Open has been before the finals almost every year recently. frick NBC.

NBC doesn’t want to televise matches in the morning because it prevents them from airing the Today show. NBC has been doing this nonsense since the early ‘00s when they got rid of MLB and NBA because it was interfering with the schedule of their TV shows.

Sucks that NBC Sports folded at times like this.

Going to be hard not going on line and seeing the match score before NBC finally airs it

That would be true, but it's not live on Peacock either.

Was at the very top yesterday, but the matches were great and honestly the shade was needed. Was walking around the stadium today hoping to get tickets. Didn't trust the guys walking around selling so no dice. Watching live in Paris is cool though. frick NBC.

Townsend is one of the best women’s doubles players out there. Hsieh is probably #1. Looks like they are playing each other in the final.

From that Djokovic/Alcaraz match to this garbage. Ruud is working Zverev. Ruud just playing absolutely clean tennis. Zverev on the other hand can't get his backhand dialed in and is really struggling with Ruud hitting everything right at his feet.

Ruud looking to make back to back French Open Finals. Let's hope he puts on a better show than getting thrashed by an injured Nadal last year.

We can rag on Ruud for playing boring tennis and being a pusher, but at some point, gotta give credit where credit is due.

I’ll give him credit at some point in the next couple days.

Is Zverev gonna eat a beignet here?

That's disappointing. I thought that match would be close, but would have favored Ruud slightly as he is just mentally tougher.

Early line for the final is Djokovic -475, Ruud +360.

Honestly I can’t see Zverev or Tsitsipas ever winning a slam. It’s still a good life but has to be a strange feeling.

I was thinking the same thing about Tomas Berdych the other day for some reason.

Oh he’s winning.

At least Shitpants has his Margot Robbie infatuation.
