Yeah, not great for the UFC. Cain is an idiot though. Why in the world you try and stand and strike with the guy that may be the single greatest HW striker in MMA history, I have no idea. Especially when you are a world class wrestler.

Whatever, Cigano!!

I can't take MMA serious if the fights don't last more than 60 seconds.

I literally watched the whole fight during commercial break from the LSU game. WTF.

I'm glad JDS won. I'd love to see JDS-Overeem.

Reem and Lesnar will be interesting. I expect Reem to win, but Lesnar will have a shot if he fights smart goes for take downs immediately and the entire fight.

Still, I give Reem about a 75% chance of winning.

Style wise, JDS and Reem would be solid as both like to strike.

you pro-boxing/anti-mma guys do realize that boxing is a part of mma.....except mma incorporates other martial arts alongside boxing. both the guys who just fought tonight (cain/jds) would literally whoop the shite out of tyson, ali, frazier, lewis, klitschko bros, etc in a "real" fight.

MMA guys would beat boxers in MMA rules

Boxers would beat MMA guys in boxing rules

Simple as that

correct.

that's why I said the mma guys would win in a "real" fight....cause that guy insinuated mma is not a "real" sport.

Dana saying exactly what I said. Cain was an idiot and lost the fight by standing right in front of a world class striker.

Overeem can beat JDS if he fights smart. I think Gilbert Yvel could have too, but instead of using his kicks to wear down JDS, Gilbert tried to just trade hands. Unfortunately for him, JDS has crazy power. If Overeem uses his kicks to keep the distance and clinches and throws knees while theyre close, he'll be good to go. If he just says "frick it" and tries to bang like Yvel did, then he'll probably be fricked.

No need to get mean about it. MMA is still a sport. It isn't a no holds barred fight like it used to be.

And Dos Santos vs Vitali Klitschko of 6 years ago(not so sure about now) would be a good fight. Vitali is more than capable of using his feet. He's a 6-time world kickboxing champion and has some limited MMA experience.

To say that he would get "whooped" is ignoring the facts of his fighting career.

in all fairness, he did try for one takedown. gotta establish the standup first before you can just rush in and attempt reckless shots on a guy like JDS.
