Like how Hendo abandoned his wrestling after clobbering Bisping.

I don't think he ever wanted to be a boxer, it's just that he never had great wrestling or takedowns. He had to drop somebody in order to get the fight to the canvas....either that or pull guard.

His biggest issue is one that is not really fixable, he doesn't like to get hit and doesnt know how to react after getting hit. He gets she'll-shocked and goes into zombie mode.

If CM Punk can somehow be ready in time it will break UFC 100 but otherwise I doubt it.

Punk won't fight until the end of the year.

Then it wont break UFC 100 records. Maybe the New Years card will have Conor moving up to fight Pettis so he can hold belts in 2 divisions, another championship fight with Rousey or Weidman and then Punk. THAT would break records.

I agree his takedowns never really were something to be feared, but he was just as dangerous on his back as he was on top. Pulling guard wasn't really an issue for him. If he wanted to, he could. He was getting skullfricked by Lesnar, got to his back, and tapped that fat frick out. Yeah tapping Lesnar is nothing to brag about, but that was always his recipe for success and he strayed from it. But you're right. If whoever he's fighting can keep it standing up and isn't total dogshit at that type of fight, Mir is a free win. Hix boxing is ok, but he's not, and hasn't beaten good competition standing up.

Damn, Jones-Rumble was just announced for UFC 187. That's the same card as Weidman-Vitor. So sick!

And shame on NY for not allowing MMA still. Jones and Weidman fighting in MSG would be sick.

I would be excited, but no way one of those guys does not get injured and ruins it.

Seriously? That is nuts! That and the Conor/Aldo card might be 2 of the sickest ever, I can't wait to see the rest of the fights on those.

Mir just masterfully worked to his back by having the ref stop Lesnar from beating on him

I was thinking about this the other day. Mazzagatti deducted a point with no prior warning if I remember correctly.

If they can do this and apparently they can, Jon Jones cannot get another warning for poking in the eye.

Anthony Johnson of all people has been poked in the eye enough. The first time Bones does this, no fricking warning just take a damn point away from him.

Lesnar later said that he wanted to punch Mazzagatti's mustache off.
