He and Bryce both looked overwhelmingly disappointing. UFC needs to quit trying to hard to make the “next big personality” happen and just organically let the best guys get popular. They’re massively overhyping these guys who can’t live up to it and feeding them dogshit fighters to boost their record until they have to fight someone real

They need to fire their matchmaker and come up with a new fighter marketing strategy

UFC’s tweet on the Paddy result is getting absolutely hammered in the comments.

That’s how you’re supposed to build up someone’s career though and how it’s always been done. You’re not supposed to feed someone like Paddy to Islam right now. This matchmaking was fine, the fight just didn’t live up to expectations.

t sounded like even Gordon conceded that Paddy was winning the fight prior to the 3rd. So, maybe ask him why he thought he lost the first 2 rounds.

So you give Gordon the 3rd. How did Paddy win 1 or 2?

Always been done where exactly? In boxing, which led to the sport being all but dead? The UFC absolutely did not hype guys who pretty obviously don’t have championship potential until the McGregor era. There’s a huge difference between organically letting someone have career progression and still feeding them cans 5+ fights into their career

UFC didn’t have to hype up Paddy. Guy has been a huge deal since cage warriors where he was a title holder. His popularity has just spilled over.

And yeah all combat sports have always allowed people with potential to slowly work their way up the ranks. It’s not new with the McGregor era.

not the same. Eventually the best fight the best in the UFC. Paddy would have to eventually go through some MFers to get the belt.
In boxing they just create an alphabet association and make the person champ

Jan should take this fight if he's patient. Ankalaev going a bit wild here, he can't let him connect here

Probably 2-1 Jan because of those bog leg shots, but Dagestani is really throwing a ton of good shots.

Ankalaev has been investing in the body all fight. See if that pays off for him here down the stretch

If Jan can’t get up here he’s going to lose this fight.
