Another outstanding job by Herb Dean.

I have a great Herb Dean story. He's quite the dick and sucks at pulling bitches.

Was booked on a series of combination pro wrestling/pankration card. The MMA guys were bitches and the crowd hated them. They used the wrestling guys to entertain and bring in the crowd as no one in the early 00's paid to go watch MMA/pankration.

After a couple nights of us wrasslers stealing the show and nights of boos for the long boring matches that went to the ground with no action. The MMA guys challenged us. None of us had any fight training past our shooting during wrestling training. I'm a small guy so everyone always wants to try me. They don't want anything to do w/ my boy's that are 6-4 285, 6-6 310, 6-1 250 and built.

Herb got caught on the chin from a wild punch but lasted his 3 rounds. I nearly started a riot. I'm a dirty MF'r. I got DQ'd for headbutting my MMA guy. I didn't give a shite about playing by the rules, they were thinking they were gonna clown us. Nuh uh. The next 2 fights were just shoots and brawls. I never got invited back.

Aldo supposedly broke his foot in the first round.

Edit: And the legendary Cecil Peoples did in fact judge the Davis/Machida fight.

He was a decent ref, but he's so inconsistent as a judge.

nope. Maybe I should've explained the combo show thing better.

It was a set of bookings at county fairs and spot shows in KS. The promoter liked both wrestling and MMA. He a bit misguided and ahead of his time.

There'd be 2 wrestling matches to begin the show. Then a pankration match, then a wrestling match, another 2 MMA matches, and the finale was usually some sort of tag team/lumberjack/battle royale depending on whatever storyline we came up with.

We tried to be cool with everyone and have fun like always, the MMA guys were pricks, we didn't bitch out. that's all.
