Fighters who can beat jones

Silva

265 heavyweights

That's it.

The thing is, neither of those are guarantees. I think Jones could beat either of those guys too if he continues to get better and looks like he did tonight. He is the most naturally gifted young fighter that I have ever seen. He has flaws, but he doesn't let others take advantage of them. I just don't think he's getting beat unless he beats himself

I'm expecting a pretty big backlash from longtime hardcore MMA fans at the attention JJ is about to get.

I am a longtime fan but what I saw tonight I thought I'd never see against shogun. I never thought I'd see someone dismantle him that badly. Jones is just a whole new type of fighter

I know the exact type of fan you're talking about. To compare JJ to Lesnar or a stiff who just wins because he is big is just crazy.

Royce Gracie fan? I don't see how anyone can hate on what Jon Jones just did to Rua. He defended relentless pressure from Rua trying to attack his leg and he remained controlled when every Jones fan was probably yelling at the TV for him to go for finish and soundly dominated one of the greatest MMA fighters and straight up took his belt like he owed it to him. And we are not talking about a Diaz brother disrespectful cockiness, dude is just that good.

The punch didn't actually break his jaw, that was a rumor passed around after the fight.

I don't see Machida beating Jones, but I do think he presents maybe the hardest matchup at LHW, just because he is so unorthodox, there aren't a lot of Karate fighters in the UFC.

How could you possibly say that a size advantage gave Jones the victory? Size doesn't give you incredibly precise striking, good takedowns, submission defense, etc.

With the attention UFC has gotten you knew the sport would continue to evolve. I personally think its awesome that the level of athlete in UFC is getting a major upgrade.

I actually want to see a jon jones vs cain fight. There really wouldn't be that much of a weight difference.

If the fight takes place in 2011 the only fighter I would pick is silva. Silva dodged 4 punches from the guy with the fastest hands in the UFC with his head movement. He has more knockout power than jones, and ridiculous BJJ. I think jones in 12 months destroys silva.

Cain generally weighs in around 245, I remember Jones saying that he walks around at 217. Jones would have to put on quite a bit of weight, just look at his legs.

Silva vs Jones would have to be the best MMA fight ever right?

At this point, I can't imagine a fight that would draw more attention.

Anderson might be able to fight with jones on the feet but we've never seen anderson fight a guy with a longer reach then him. Also anderson wouldn't be able to submit jones because jones is to tall for a triangle or armbar. The body frame anderson and jones have are perfect for MMA

possibly. it's hard to see when Silva's age will affect him.

I'd give Silva a definite fight if the fight happened soon. Some things to consider are 1) how would Silva do with a 7 inch reach disadvantage, 2) someone who is as long and strong at Jones trying to take him down

Jones would have a HUGE advantage in wrestling over Anderson. He could potentially do what Chael did, but he would be too long for Anderson to throw up a triangle.
