Portcity, you have to give Silva some credit. Just a little. Sonnen didn't put the submission on himself. Silva had one shot to not lose that fight and he pulled it off.
If Sonnen had pulled off that move you'd be lauding his heart and never give up attitude.

I've seen alot of nuttriding about Sonnen's wrestling ability, yet I never saw him advance on the ground. Anderson seemed able to throw him back into his guard at will.
What an odd dude.
Rogan actually explained that during the fight. Sonnen wasn't sinking hooks in when he had Anderson's back, which is an advanced position by the way, because he didn't wan't to get reversed and end up on the bottom. It was a wrestling vs BJJ tactic.

i'd say he didn't look interested, but he tried to set up subs from the bottom for about 2.5 rounds
just a strange guy

I hear you. I don't know about all the technical shite when it comes to MMA. But Silva, in all his glory, just got destroyed. I don't think it's possible to get owned more than that.

That's why I prefaced that I hadn't seen any of the fight prior to round 3. Wasn't sure if Sonnen had advanced in the earlier rounds.
Even still... I don't know if that explains how Sonnen lets Silva just shrimp out of side control at least twice. That should be a pretty strong position for a wrestler.

I do give him credit. I'm talking about people making retarded statements like "Anderson proved he was the best by getting his arse beat and slipping in a hail mary-type sub to win in the last minutes".
There's just a lot of retarded things like that being thrown around. shite I like Anderson but that wasn't a fight that proved that he's the best fighter in the world, it proved that he's beatable.

I guess Silva did get lucky in submitting sonnen, I mean no one has ever done it and he didnt leave himself at risk for it at all in the fight.
