re: UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin. It's going to get ugly!

I think Dos Santos could be a terrible matchup for Carwin if he could avoid LNP or if Carwin is that in love with his striking.
I'd put Carwin vs Duffee right now since Carwin will have to wait a while anyway. That is two white gorillas part 2.

I just think Carwin on his back with Lesnar on top is going to end badly for Carwin whether it's in the first or the second round.

when people were saying if Lesnar won it would be LNP in this thread I was pretty shocked people thought he could survive a round underneath Brock let alone potentially 5.

That would be fun but I doubt they give Duffee that fight coming off a loss.

Jaws couldn't survive 5 rounds under Brock these days.

But Lesnar was the one on his back. Carwin's body froze up at the end of the first and then he got taken down in the second. Lesnar was so scared of getting hit that when Carwin let them fly Lesnar ran for his life and then turtled when he ran out of places to run.

Considering Shane's wrestling background, I thought he would last a bit longer. Not to mention Brock didn't GNP him at all, he subbed him..... which was surprising. I thought it would take Brock around 3 rounds to get him. I never thought Brock would have a first round the way he did. I knew Carwin could clip him, but I didn't think Brock would run like that.

dude seriously seems to need to have some legit sparring sessions with HW boxers. He just freaked the frick out once he got hit and couldn't even throw any punches to keep Carwin back.

I know. I'm just saying gassing or not after the first, in the rematch if Lesnar gets on top I think it ends badly again.

No shite huh. It also just goes to show how inexperienced he really is.

the thing is, he won't be able to change that much. he will always suck at the stand-up and be a one-dimensional fighter. he also had a really loose guard.
can you imagine someone with brock's size/strength, with an all-around game. great stand-up, wrestling, bjj, etc etc.
20 years from now these mma athletes will be soo much better and skilled all-around. we have a generation growing up right now who are being trained in mma starting at an early age. so many bjj/mma gyms are popping up in neighborhoods all over america, the sport is definitely growing. can't wait to see how much the sport evolves

That's just it, I don't think Carwin Gassed. And if they fought again, I think Lesnar gets finished.

I think Lesnar was very close to having the ref stop the fight. It could happen it they fought again. However Lesnar could also get on top of Carwin early and finish if they fought again as well.

I'm not saying and I don't think Max is saying either that he will become a great boxer. All we are saying is he needs to become more accustomed to being punched so he doesn't shite his pants like he did in there.

he has like a 2 miles reach and power. he needs to atleast get comfortable standing so he doesn't have to shoot from a mile away. I dont think he'll ever be great striking but he has picked up everything else really quickly so if he focused hard on that i think he could improve a lot. It seems like maybe he doesn't like to get hit standing and therefore kind of avoids training it too much like a lot of guys seem to be with one aspect (striking or grappling).
