any adds would almost certainly require an extension of the GORs. This is a complete no-go for those wishing to explore options at the end of the current GORs
- any adds would reduce the amount of money each school gets currently. It's peanuts to most, but $1m or so keeps several Big 12 ADs afloat. They can't afford to take a haircut for longer term gains
- no one cares about anyone but UTx or OU. Every single vote is going to be based upon their access to these two schools.

Point well taken, however i would imagine that any new additions would bring a new TV deal with more money. Also sometimes you have to let programs grow. Once upon a time Florida St and Miami were up and coming schools, just like UCF and USF could be. I also believe that the first time a Big 12 member gets in over a more deserving team from a conference with a championship game in which its #1 team lost, you are going to hear bitching from them. IMO it should be an everybody has a championship game or nobody does system.

You fail at geography.

Orlando (UCF) is an hour NORTH of Tampa (USF)

Big XII needs to add New Mexico and Colorado State

Gets them in new markets and decent programs.

New Mexico has built in rival and border state
CSU border state and gets them back In the Denver market.

But if it had significant perception problems, Oregon or somebody else would've gotten into the Sugar Bowl over OU

You clearly don't know how the BCS works.

1. Oklahoma sells more tickets in New Orleans than Oregon does.

2. If Oklahoma State had won Bedlam, the Big 12 gets ONE BCS team, period. The only two schools in the top 14 (required for at-large consideration) would have been Oklahoma State and Baylor. Baylor would then lose to Missouri in the Cotton and Oklahoma State would beat UCF.

The only two Big 12 school EVER to get a BCS bid without winning the conference or being in the top 4 was Oklahoma.

For a commuter school, Central Florida looks nice to me. UCF has a ton of land and room for growth as they have a bunch of development projects in the works. You have to start somewhere.
