Probably b/c they pumped so much money into the ACCN.
If ESPN had made an American Network and pumped the same amount of coin into it you could bet they'd be all over Houston, Memphis, UCF, and SMU's nuts too.
But... since they got that conference on the cheap, they get the "Hey look how cute with all the private and commuter schools" treatment.

UAB looks like the better executing team. Miami just has a better athlete making some broken plays on his own.
