Effective Sept 30. This is completely out of the blue. The timing is pretty weird too.

Rumors are that his son is playing at Ga Tech and he wants to be able to spend more time with his family. And he's held on to some pretty crappy coaches for way too long. Like our DC. The D has been on a consistent downside for years.

Blakeney is too loyal. He's used to good Coordinators being snatched away from Troy and there's a reason Rowell hasn't been snatched.
There was a lot of fan uproar at several points last year and in one of the press conferences Blakeney said that the next coach fired from Troy would be himself.
