Yeah, if that were true and they kept Washington to 13 points I'd see where he was coming from. Why do these ESPN personalities continue to just spout nonsense?
Yesterday, they had Tom Luginbill interview Finebaum and ask him who his top 5 heisman candidates were, and if he thought Ole Miss would rebound after the Auburn loss...
What the hell does Finebaum know about being a CFB analyst? Could he even name 4 defensive players for Ole Miss? I bet he can't name Baylor's QB.

Paul Finebaum is the southern version of Colin Cowherd. Why people listen to them is beyond me. Then again, people watch reality tv, so frick everything.

Finebaum is worse than Cowherd. I'm not a fan of Cowherd but at least he takes the time to watch games, analyze stats and information and talk with people "in the know" like Vegas linemakers.
You can tell Cowherd prepares before his show and has done his homework when he makes asinine comments. (Still laughing about him saying Saban would never come to Alabama, and saying we had a delusional fanbase that thought we were relevant in CFB).
Finebaum's reputation is that he's a great interviewer and lets morons hurl insults on national radio, I doubt he watches even 2 full CFB games a week.
He picked Ole Miss over Auburn this week, and someone called him out on it and his response was. I had do to 4 TV hits before getting on a plane for Gameday I don't even remember what I said.

You don't actually believe that Cowherd does any of that do you? His producers and staff do everything for him. Literally the only original things that Colin has to say are in his life lessons rant which are so out of place and so preachy that it makes me want to rip his beady little head off.
I'll still never get over how he openly campaigned for Antonio Cromartie to be suspended because he couldn't remember his daughter's name off the top of his head. Believe that was back in 2010. Self-righteous northwest prick.

I find both Finebaum and Cowherd very entertaining.

Oh they are quality entertainment, just like Machete Kills will be quality entertainment.

Oregon is clearly number 1.
Trevor can't make a reasonable argument for Stanford being number 2.

Based on what?

In my opinion, no team has done anything to merit being #1.
We will know over the next couple of games.

I like Oregon. Fun to watch and I feel they are certainly top 5. However, they've played no one.
I have a feeling they will either be undefeated or a one loss team, but I can't stand basing TODAY'S rankings off of where you think a team will be AT THE END OF THE YEAR. The media does this all the time and it drives me insane.
As for the SEC vs all discussion, I think these last couple of years, the SEC has still be the best conference, but not by leaps and bounds like they used to be. The fact that teams like Clemson rush their own field when they beat UGA (a team they were favored over I believe, don't quote me on it), proves these other "big dogs" don't even think they are better.
Even if the SEC gets dethroned this year, they will still be 7-1 for the last 8 years, but all we'll hear is how the SEC is overrated and on the decline. It'll be a shitfest.

Before Easley got hurt, it was Florida and it wasn't close. They're still in the discussion without him.

Clemson puts up 30+ on them easy.

I've had Stanford's front seven as the best in the NCAA this year.
Overall I'd take:
1. Florida (with no injuries)
2. Michigan St
3. Stanford
4. VT

It's going to be a heck of a game. If FSU holds Clemson to 30 or less, then they are one of the best D's in the country.
By the way, who is 1st in Total Offense in the ACC?

If FSU holds Clemson to less than 30 in Death Valley they're the best team in the nation, period. Clemson has gone through FSU's defense like shite through a goose since Morris arrived at Clemson. Last year in Doak we scored 37 with numerous missed opportunities.
Clemson's misdirection-oriented offense is stonecold kryptonite to FSU's insanely fast yet overly aggressive defense. Your secondary has also been somewhat overrated as yet and is moreso the product of a dominant defensive line. When given time to throw (which only a few teams have had, Clemson being one of them) we've had no problem finding open men.
The biggest key in this game is Clemson's OL versus FSU's DL. If we can give Boyd time, we'll win. FSU hasn't won in Death Valley in over a decade.

Who's played no one with a pulse? You came into last year's game and the year before that's with the best defenses of all-time that no on could move the ball on. Just like those years, you were overvalued based off playing no one.
Now having said that, these teams are extremely evenly matched. Both are the absolute cream of the crops in the ACC and even in the nation. With two evenly matched teams, it simply comes down to the fact that the game's in Death Valley not Doak Campbell.
I will say I'm really interested to see how we attack Famous. He hasn't seen a DL that could really get after the QB (which we have) but at the same time you can't really pin your ears back and tear after a mobile QB like you would a Mettenberger or he'll takeoff when you abandon your rush lanes.
Will be an awesome game for sure!
