As much as Thibs wears on players, the Knicks really need a coach like him if they want to become relevant again.
Plus Thibs actually wants to be there. He would've stayed in Chicago if the Bulls never forced him out, but hes always wanted to coach the Knicks.

Might be good for them for 2-3 years. Get them into shape. Then get a coach that can win long term (which is highly unlikely with the Knicks)

If I’m an agent to any player on the Knicks I’m exploring the trade market for my client(Julius Randle for example).
No way I want my clients to take the wear and tear that Noah and Deng absorbed durning their time with Thibs.

Doesn’t matter
Team sucks
And the owner sucks
They will never be good until Dolan is gone

How many current NBA coaches have been previously fired? Legit question. It seems like a lot of them.
Edit:
So 13 coaches have spent their entire NBA career at their current job. Here are the remaining coaches, excluding Borrego and Vaugn.
Has he been fired from another team?
Brooks - yes
Walton - yes ("mutually parted ways" with Lakers)
Stotts - yes
Williams - yes
Clifford - yes
Gentry - yes ("mutually parted ways" with Suns)
Budenholzer - yes ("parted ways" with Hawks)
Vogel - yes
Rivers - yes
McMillin - yes
D'Antoni - sort of. Lakers Declined option
Casey - yes
Malone - yes
Carlisle- yes
Bickerstaff - yes
