YES THIS WAS A CATCH. I hate it for the Cowboys, and Dez Bryant. He lunges for the goal line, how the hell is that not a football move?

In the slow mo of that video at the end you dont think Dez was reaching for the
endzone?

The ball touched the ground.

I would like you to respond to the fact that the referees felt that he indisputably was not trying to reach out and score, which is a football move.

Countless receivers and analysts have come out yesterday and today and said that's exactly what they think he was trying to do.

Yet, they overturn that call with 100% confidence he wasn't trying to reach the ball out and score there?

I'm sorry, man. That's just bullshite. The ruling on the field was a catch. The replay officials are the ones who were assuming and reaching.

Yeah as someone who thinks it was a catch, that ball hit the ground.

I'm honestly not trying to be obtuse. I understand that we all assume it hit the ground because of the still shot showing it angled below his forearm as he is falling. I'm simply asking if there is an angle or a still show showing the ball touching the ground. I've been looking on Google images and cannot find anything.

This is the closest still shot I could find...

It appears that the ball is going to hit the ground, but you cannot make that assumption as a referee. He bobbled the ball and came down with it in the endzone. That is all I've been able to see from all of the replays I've seen.

I wish we could find a still shot of Dez's elbow hitting right before the ball did.

He also clearly lifts his hand up with control of the ball, reaching for the endzone.(football move) Notice that he also tries to push off his left foot and keep his knee off the ground. Refs got it wrong. Move on.

The push off the left foot and raising of the left hand happens at the same time. That's a football move if I've ever seen one.

That doesn't matter. He was going to the ground, so he has to maintain control of the ball. Now, if the ball wouldn't have touched the ground, and Dez lost control but recovered the ball WITHOUT it touching the ground, then it would be a catch. People talking about lunging is a football move has nothing to do with this play. He didn't control the ball and take 3 steps. The ball was tipped while he was catching it. He actually didn't get control of it until after his second step. Since he was going down at this point, football moves don;t matter. He must maintain possession throughout the catch.

Control of the football all the way down, left knee and right elbow on the ground before the ball.
