They had a segment the other day where Hodge hated on one of Newtons COMPLETIONS for like two minutes. I mean I hate Cam as much as the next guy, but cmon.

I didn't watch the game, only the highlights, with that said, his completion % wasn't very good, but he's a rookie, there were a few completions that wowed me though

he has the tools and in the spirit of the recent banter, a classic overhand delivery...I really want Tebow and , ugh, Newton to do well just to shut this ahole up...I stopped watching ESPN and yet I still have to listen to this guy's worthless opinion

I love how you continue to prove what a ignorant, arrogant prick you are.

Your whole argument is (a) I spelled ONE word wrong and (b) you're a "diehard ( ) NFL fan" who has seen Rivers play and can attest to his slow, long release.

Multiple people in this thread have agreed with me that Rivers' release is remarkably fast, similar to Dan the Man.

When Rivers' first came into the League his release point was questioned, but due to the quickness of said release and his accuracy he's been able to evolve into a top NFL QB.

It's been said numerous times on ESPN/NFLN/CBS how fast Rivers' gets rid of the ball.

It's all over the Internet.

Find one person/article/anything saying he has a long, slow release. You can't find anyone that agrees with your ignorant point.

It was on today. I seent it

He's like well if this ball was thrown perfectly, then this would have been a touchdown...

When did this douche become a quarterback analayzer??

Dude was a running back for Christ sake

No, but it is really funny you keep lying about it because it's really silly, which by the way would make you "arrogant". Even funnier that your entire argument is "everyone on this TD.com thread agrees with me"

I'm done with the "release" argument...I know I'm right, you know you're right, this is really stupid

I'm out...starting...now :cosmokramer:

I remember when ESPN was highlights, news, etc...I don't mind analysis, but shite like this is ridiculous. They also need to get out of the score projecting game...Tom Jackson picked the Pats over the jets, then got called out and said he did it to motivate the jets...that is asinine, unethical and just beyond defending

Yeah, that's a pretty quick release.

tebow will shut up pricks like hoge soon enough. he needs some experience to adjust to the nfl game and idk if denver will give him that. he's the hardest worker on that team and the man won't settle for average. i mean tebow hasn't looked bad at all, sure he misses some throws but he's still only been in the league for just over a season

I'm not a fan of Hoge either, but that was a pretty good point. He underthrew his man on that play. If he would have thrown it in the right spot, it was a td.

Now Now, guys.

The almighty Fox, who has seen Rivers play in person from the Plaza level, swears he has a very long, slow release. Contray to NFL analysts and everyone in this thread, Fox must be right because he's a "diehard NFL fan."

the second throw on that video is exactly what I'm talking about...

when philip rivers cocks the ball back his arm extends all the way back and the ball is farther back than someone like Manning would hold it and because of his sidearm motion, LOWER...he has a bigger windup and thus a slower, I'm not saying he is a fricking turtle, release than other QBs

when Drew Brees cocks the ball his arm does not extend all the way out...as a result the throw comes out quicker. Right here the ball is about to come up and over

pictures just can't make the point, but look for that in the video, and that is the exact same criticism tebow gets...I'm not saying tebow is in the same league as pip, but holding the ball back that far is why he has a slowER release than other QBs

I don't think anyone is saying he doesn't have an odd windup and release. I think people are saying, even though he has an odd windup and release, he still gets rid of the ball really fast. Faster than most other qb's.

And Fox is the only one who doesn't believe this is the case.

F Machine hits the nail on the head

I don't think Fox can get it through his head that despite his quirky/unorthodox motion Rivers still has one of the quickest releases in the NFL.

that is the only part I disagree with...and just because everyone believes it's true doesn't make it true

Slow actually had a thread a while back on how unbelievably strong Rivers' right elbow must be to get that kind of side-arm torque that he does.

It makes you wonder how long his career will last and if that elbow will hold up.

It doesn't matter his motion, get that through your head, bro. Brees' mechanics are a lot better, I'm pretty sure everyone would agree with that. The problem is, you can't seem to understand that despite his mechanical flaws Rivers' has a very quick, if the not the quickest, release.

Starting to wonder why not a single person agrees with you?
