Jeter will be playing RF by August

Nah, but this should be his last year at short.

They'll trade for Hanley for the start of the 2012 season. His salary in Florida jumps from $11M in 2011 up to $15M+ in 2012-2014.

If they get Hanley, they better not sign him to an extension though.

lol on anybody who actually believes that he only "tried steroids one time." Bull fricking shite, Andy.

I don't care about the doing of the steroids, but I do care about the pissing on my leg and tell me it's raining lies that go on. It's insulting. You fricking did them. Wear it. Would one person just, for once, wear it.

As a (now) casual baseball fan I'm really not sure how I feel about Pettite overall.

He was a great postseason pitcher - always performed near the best of his ability then IMO. But you have the fact that he was linked to PED use (yeah he admitted it but claimed it was a one time kinda deal)... and that he was part of the yankees teams that outspent everyone

I guess he deserves a place in the Yankees HOF but probably not in the MLB HOF

Maybe partially. You definitely were trying to piss off Yankees fans too. We're not stupid.

It would be a joke if he gets in with subpar career numbers and after ADMITTING to steroids, and guys like Sosa, McGwire, Bonds, etc...with ridonculous numbers get left out. Strictly because Pettite was more likable.

No matter how unfair it is, this has a lot to do with it.

well, he played for the Yankees too. You're going to get more recognition there than in Chicago, STL, or SF

I feel like Bonds definitely gets in... McGwire gets in eventually (after a bunch of hypocrites get over pretending they didn't know he played near 260 pounds with less than 10% body fat)... but Pettitte probably has a better shot than Sosa

240 wins will look good for many members of the media, of course he has that 3.88 ERA as well and only 2 years of 20+ wins
