You are giving too much credit to the BUFFS here... The game changed... The option was gone.. The offensens changed... Nebraska used to get big old corn fed O-linemen and just ran it down your throat... This game you keep talking about did NOT change Nebraska football.....
Posted on 6/21/17 at 7:29 pm to mizzoubuckeyeiowa
There was no 5th down because the 4th down play wasn't even ran.
The referee did not change the down marker so the ball was spiked and another play was ran
If the play was ran on 4th down it would have resulted in the same touchdown.

A much funnier list would be the most embarrassing Children of the Corn losses since 2001
2007 was quite the season in Lincoln.
They were down 38-0 to Oklahoma State at halftime on their homecoming
Colorado put up 65 on Nebraska to deny them bowl eligibility
Mizzou beat them 41-6
and Kansas....that Kansas score.
76-39
Yes. in Football, not basketball

The Children of the Corn was coming into that game ranked #1 with the future Heisman trophy winner at QB.
They had already beaten the defending national champions OU
Yeah I am in the opinion the Nebraska mystique was beginning to be eroded prior to the game but to say that they were a shell of their former selves is nonsense.
After that game they lost the Rose Bowl then if it wasn't the first game of the next year it was the second game that Larry Johnson and Penn St destroyed Nebraska as well

You must have NOT watched much Nebraska football from the 80's and such till this point......

Which they had ZERO reason to be in...............
2001 LSU was A better team at that point of the season than Nebraska....... And would have at least have given Miami A game..........

4th game. Followed it up with a blowout loss to Seneca Wallace and ISU. Nebraska actually had two August games in 2002 and played 13 regular season games.

No one was going to give Miami a game that night. Not Oregon. Not Florida. Not Texas. Not Oklahoma. Not Colorado. Not Tennessee. Not Wazzu. Not LSU.

Wow.. I get it... You don't like Nebraska and give them ZERO respect for the program... FINE...
What has Okie St. EVER done even CLOSE to what NEB has done in football????
Ill hang up and listen...............

Won a conference championship this century.

No one sits here and tries to act like Minnesota or Army is some unbelievable football program.
They are not anymore neither is Nebraska.
The funny thing is that once you remove football from Nebraska what do they have.
I guess their past to hold onto.
I am sure in places like Hastings, Grand Island and North Platte they will be speaking about how unbelievable that 95 team was, how classless CU is, how Texas robbed them of a second, and how OU stabbed them in back because of UT in 50 years

Colorado is garbage, period. Just look at the all-time record: Nebraska is 49-18-2 vs. the Buffs. Nebraska is Top 5 all-time in wins, with 5 NCs. With the exception of a short decent run in the early-90s, Colorado is nothing in the realm of college football.
PAC 12 South Championship

Nebraska was undefeated vs. Oklahoma State for 36 YEARS IN A ROW and this guy is trying to talk trash
Posted on 6/21/17 at 7:56 pm to I am GLORIOUS
We are speaking about currently not 25 years ago.
As of today June 2017 CU is coming off of a 10 win season and appearance in a conference championship game. What about Nebraska? Maybe it is Mike Riley. He may not have the talent there in Lincoln it is not Corvallis and all. That is horrible that someone can win at Oregon St and not Nebraska.
Who is next on the list of Nebraska coaching hires.
Maybe you can bring back old senile Tom to run some more of that old 1970's football

what do they have
5 national championships
3 Heisman winners
354 consecutive sellouts (since 1962)
327 Academic All-Americans (NCAA record)
3rd most all-time victories
46 conference championships
Highest win % of any team over the past 50 years
1995 team rated #1 all-time
27 NCAA records
Colorado and Okie State come nowhere close to those numbers COMBINED

Where have I said NEB is even close to where they were in the 70's 80's and 90's????????
They have been crap since Osborne left....
What are you trying to prove here?????
Posted on 6/21/17 at 8:06 pm to dukke v
I say every former Big 8 university except for Iowa State has been better than Nebraska since 2001
at their peak even KU. All have except for KU and Mizzou won a conference championship since the Boulder Beatdown with exception of Nebraska and Iowa State.
Okie State 2011
OU
CU 2001
Kansas State 2003

This clown is trying to compare Colorado's success to Nebraska's... and is failing miserably and embarrassing himself.
Posted on 6/21/17 at 8:10 pm to I am GLORIOUS
354 consecutive sellouts is not that impressive because behind Nebraska football what else does the state have.
I guess Triple A baseball and tractor pulls.
Have you been keeping up with the local Friday night tractor pulls. Heard it was a huge event in most of Nebraska
