Like I said, you can make a case for about 6 of them.

Plus, he wouldn't get a "shot"

Everyone knows he's a milkshake fan

I feel like I'm defending coach cal here

Yeah but that's the only way the pun worked!

O'Neill = Dutrow of the West coast. I really wish a different horse would have won the roses.

I don't hate him like I hate dutrow. He's not an a-hole drug addict.

3 milkshake positives is bad, but he's also had lots of cheap claimers over the years.

He's gotten longevity out of horses too. After 2 milkshakes, a horse is never the same...

I'm sure they tested IHA after the Derby, huh?

The three horses I plan on betting across the board are as followed:

4 -- Zetterholm / R. Dutrow Jr / Alvarado / 20-1
10 -- Optimizer / Lukas / Court / 30-1
9 -- I'll Have Another/ O'Neill / Gutierrez / 5-2

I like the long shots and I pull for the derby winner every year in the Preakness.

Of course.

Milkshake tests are often done before the race to the whole field.

At least down here they are.

When I was boy's slave at delta running horses last year we got stuck in the holding barn for many a milkshake test. My shoulder would get practically ripped off while waiting for blood to be drawn.

Plus, I doubt he'd be that dumb. Iha is a nice horse and its a quick way to ruin them. Mostly cheap horses that you want to win and get claumed. They test for elevated co2 levels I think.

How about you just give me your money.

Pretty sure 95% of the general public does as well.

You would pick the state bred winner

Down with dutrow.

Why do you choose optimizer?

I gotcha. Thanks for the info asp. I don't mind the horse, just not sure he can compete here. Hope he can at least make things interesting. I just read an article on O'Neill that made me lighten up on him a little bit. Seems to be an alright guy, just a little flawed maybe in the past. Who isn't though, amirite?

As I said before, he caught my eye after the Lewis. Looked back and saw he'd only run 1 bad race. It was in the slop and he came out of it with shins.

I really like the little guy. Plus, arch on the mom's side. I LOVE arch. That says distance to me.

Wish I had the spare cash to send my mare to something by him.

God. Trinniberg. What a joke.

Do you think IHA could be up front this race and still have a shot? He seems like he has pretty diverse running styles. It's always been about speed at Pimlico and if they're on a FT I think IHA needs to press Bode early.

I'm also looking at Cozzetti at the bottom of some exotics. Been working well since Arkansas.

Ihad him in my exactas at Tampa and arky.

For a longshot to hit, he's my pick.

I think he can, but if they go in 21 and 44 then they are both done, IMHO.

23-24 then 48, then 111 then BOOM! Horse race in the stretch

Good read. It's nice to hear this:

quote:

“It’s been a distraction,” he said. “But we play by the rules. … I’ll Have Another, along with every other horse in our barn, goes through an intense exam and blood and urine exams. We run pure horses.

“I have been guilty of running horses maybe to help races fill (get enough entries),” he said. “I think as I’ve grown as a person, a trainer, I’ve learned to be more (judicious) with placing horses. I’ve got areas where I can grow and do better. But we run a great operation.”

Hopefully it's all true and I have a feeling it may be. Seems like an honest guy and I'm sure he has people checking on his shite.
