Probably because the Japanese would pay that much. Tokyo is one of the most expensive places in the world to live in. Link for the non-believers.
Pretty much everything is way overpriced there.

Just making sure you were not going to say burners or something like that. I wanted a good laugh.

At a titleist demo day the other day I hit some balls with a 712 MB
I was just doing it to see how impossible it was to hit and I'll be damned if I didn't hit a half dozen or so real nice balls in a row
It was a 6 iron, might have been a different story with a 3 or 4

I love those mizunio mp 53's I am not quite good enough with them though. Mizunio's are so buttery.
My next purchase is some scratch wedges, as a lefty I am looking forward to being able to customize my clubs, I wanted to get fourteens but they don't make lefty clubs.
Btw: I have talked to the head of scratch via golfwrx and he says it takes 3 months to get the Forgings in from Japan. Soo...

Most people have grips that aren't the same brand as the club.

I did the same and hit them a thousand times better than the AP1s. Kinda soured my feelings on the AP1s btw.

I wonder how much it would cost if I wanted them to melt down a bunch of old Samuri swords and forge irons with that. I bet those clubs would be fricking sweet.
