I agree 100%. And a lot of that has to do with how other players reacted knowing they were paired with him on A Sunday and with him leading. I am not taking anything away from what his golf ability used to be. He was incredible. And to be fair I wish he could still play like that today. He is great for golf.

U dumb. So 1962 + 1 = 1963 was his first year?

So the big 12 was a better conference than the sec in 2011? They had more depth.

so, all of you who think tiger is done winning majors need to slow down. jack wasn't the best golfer at the time and still won 5 majors after the age of 37. tiger has a lot of time left. don't count him out yet.
Could Tiger do it, yes. Will he? Likely not. He hasn't won a major in a long time. The injuries and partying lifestyle have diminished his ability. I'm not sure he has the drive to win that badly anymore. I think the money has made him a bit soft, and the competition is not scared to see him on the leaderboard anymore.
Like Jack, competitors used to wilt when he was on the leaderboard. Not anymore.
the money has made him soft? ... he was set the day he turned pro ... after his first 5 years, he was set for life ... he hasn't equaled jack's records in the majors, so he's not the goat, and may never be, but he is far from finished ... he has always set jack's records as his goal ... he's got 10 years of golf left in him ...

Sunday of a major strikes more fear in players than tiger ever did. The mental toughness of tiger is severely underrated. His record after 54 holes when leading could be argued as his greatest accomplishment.
i think it was his cut streak ... even when he wasn't 'on', he still played hard for the sake of playing hard and to make the cut ... that's all mental ...

I will type slowly, and maybe you'll be able to comprehend
We have not finished the 2014 season have we? So in order to track Tiger currently, I looked up how Jack did in the equivalent season. Tiger turned pro in 1996. 2014 - 1996 = 18. And since Jack turned pro in 1962, you add the same 18 seasons Tiger has played and, Voila! You get 1980.
So how did Jack do in 1980 (so that we can accurately compare the two to Tigers current year)? He won 2 majors. Entered 14 events, and was setting monumental records
Tigers not really on par, huh?

Tiger cut streak right now. 1 missed. He will add to it with that awful shirt game.

He's got 2-3 majors left.

Dude you said I had trouble with math. U are the one that claims jack's 18th season was 1980. U are wrong. Sorry.
Anyway tiger's 18th season was a hell of a lot better than jack's. Tiger's 19th season (2014) can't be compared to jack's 19th season because of the injury.

Ok. Just answer me one question. Were you alive at some point when Jack played? I wasn't. I mean I was like 4 years old when Jack won the '86 masters. But you seem to know so much about what happened when Jack played that you must have lived through it right?

Born in '79 so didn't see much of nicklaus. But I can watch old footage and look at the facts. You don't need to see it in person to have a strong opinion on it.

Nicklaus was praised for his mental toughness and I don't think anyone doubts Woods resolve.

Mental toughness is underrated? Dude that's all people talk about. It's overrated now.

Some people don't think he is the most mentally tough athlete of all time. Therefore, it is underrated.

Well look who has tigers dingy down his throat again, shocking...
I'll make this simple, tiger woods is done... Period.
