Why would he do this when he wants to reach 19 majors?

How can you explain that line of thinking?

Its not like the controlling interests arent a bunch of racist, misogynist pricks who throw their weight around in dollars.

Do you really think they needed Tiger to make them money? They're embarassed by this, and want him to go away. And unlike you, they dont care how much it costs.

And if Tiger had followed through with his own tour, how would that have affected PGA jobs and their flow of money?

I remember when he started his own tour for those two years. Man those were some incredible events. Really wish that had kept going becuase it was something special. Wait, nevermind.

It didn't happen. In fact it was nothing but conjecture at the time. So it seems likely that the tour would ban him now for a rumor a decade ago. Seems reasonable.

Keep in mind this is the PGA tour where events are dying because they have no sponsors anymore. Oh, and those events are the ones that Tiger never goes to. Do the math.

holy shite. You think money doesn't drive all this????

There is no more bankable athlete on the face of this planet than Tiger woods. It's why events overseas pay him a million bucks just to come tee it up and win their tournament.

This is a TIGER issue, not a Tour issue. I just don't understand how you can be so obtuse

No they're pissed that he missed a tourney but probably excited for the ratings windfall they'll get from his first tourney back

Golf is not, and never has been about the money. Its a social sport. Its about the prestige. These guys have money to burn.

i'm gonna guess that RobbyBobby here is mainly a poli board poster. If so, his whole line of reasoning makes way more sense.

Good point. I remember this year at the Shell Open when the winner got a pan of Mrs. Heffernan's famous cinnamon rolls. His quote was legendary, "Sure my family hasn't had running water in months since we have no money to pay the bills, but what we lack in money earned here, I more than make up for it by the rewarding social aspect I can find on Tour!"

Or when the directors thanked their Shell sponsors. "We would like to thank Shell for supplying everyone involved with ten dollar off gas cards. Without their continued support, our wonderful social and prestigious sport would crumble."

are you too dense to realize what happened in that other thread or what? The fact you brought it up again is even funnier.

Dude, really??????

Tiger Woods will quit playing golf the second he quits breathing or fricking, whichever cums first.

The catch 22 is that explaining it to him ruins the hilarity of the situation.
