The question was why didn't LAC foul, you never even came to close to answering that question, you can't spin that any other way.
In hindsight, they would have been better off if the foul had been called on Barnes. It would have taken less time off the clock, and at worst left the Clips tied with possession of the ball.
How's that?

I think you were unintentionally misleading when you're talking about in hindsight what would have been better for LAC, but that wasn't the question posed when given the 2 options.
