This would be so easy if conference title games were removed

Two options.
1. Remove conference title games
2. Only conference title game winners make the playoff

Naw, it is easy right now.
If you don't have to risk the extra game by playing a conference championship then you shouldn't get to go.
Nope, I think title game losers can make it.
I just think teams who put nothing on the line and get a bye week should be left out automatically.

They should make the conference championships basically the first round of the playoff.
Have 6 conferences (ND can join or be left out)
6 conferences champions get in. Top 2 conferences champions get a bye in the 6 team tourney.
Keeps the regular season critically important and doesn’t kill a team for an early OOC loss.
