This game features Jackie Robinson, Mantle, Yogi, and some other greats.
The camera angle from behind home plate is actually a good angle that gives you a better idea of the velocity and distance they are throwing than modern day TV footage. Allie Reynolds comes in to pitch at around 58 minutes and he throws some heat.
The batters didn't wear helmets. They bunted a lot.

Starting pitchers throwing that 82 mph heat.

It was still a more beautiful game then (in the context of that time) than it is now, imo.
The Red Sox pitcher was pitching his 3rd game in 7 days and at least one of them was a complete game. Allie Reynolds (NYY) was throwing in the 90's if I had to guess. It's obviously hard to tell.

Fewer breaking balls in the old days. Those are more taxing than fastballs.
Are you sure it was only 7 days? Did they eliminate the travel days for a crosstown Series?

Mel Allen ain't no slouch.
Also, today I learned the "Only you can prevent forest fires" slogan was already being used in 1952.

No batting gloves and other protective assortments. Notice when the fielders come to the dugout they drop their gloves between the baseline and the dugout.
Also, Red Barber mentioned that they completed 3 innings in just over 30 minutes

This was a new revelation for me. So I guess there were just gloves laying around on the field in foul territory?
The infield was a bit scuffed up and not perfect like you see in games in the 1960's and onward.
The stands mostly had gates all over them so people could open them and go on the field at will if they wanted to.
