1975 In the bottom of the 12th inning of Game Six at Fenway Park, Red Sox backstop Carlton Fisk hits one of the most dramatic home runs in major league history, forcing a seventh game with the Reds. In 2002 this event, seen by a record-75.9 million viewers, will be chosen as one of baseball's most memorable moments.

It's probably the second most famous HR in baseball history and one of the iconic visuals in the game. The only one that tops it is Kirk Gibson's HR in '88. It will be a long time before we see a more dramatic HR.
(Side note. Joe Carter's walkoff should be higher than Fisk's since it actually won the series. Unfortunately, he didn't play for an iconic team like the Dodgers or Red Sox. Still, the radio call was perfect. "Touch 'em all Joe. You'll never hit a bigger homerun in your life!")
When it comes to dramatic postseason moments it's hard to argue baseball doesn't have the market cornered.

Ratings typically rise as a series progresses. A game 6 now barely draws 20M viewers. I think the last Red Sox title was clinched in Game 6, and didn’t hit the 20M mark. Their fans got spoiled fast.

Fisk is more dramatic because it was an extra inning game that extended the series. Carters is next because it won the series but Toronto was up in the series. Gibson’s is only dramatic because he was injured on the bench. It was just the first game of the series.

Probably because last year’s series ended in 5
