Roddick might be in a dogfight tonight.

Is there an echo in here?

Roddy is getting pushed around. He's going to lose at this rate.

Still think Murray/Fed is the smart money but I thought it was an encouraging start for Rafa.

I agree. Obviously, he served well. And I thought Rafa started feeling more confident with his backhand in the third set and had a few good multiple backhand exchanges in points where he didn't try to run around it (but it was after the service break, I think, so maybe not so brave).

Also, Rafa has a tendency to not always play that well in the opener. In this one, he played pretty solid and hit a lot of good shots and looked more comfortable on that surface than he sometimes does.

That being said, IMO he still looks like the third best player in the tournament.

I don't know what's worse, Roddick foot faulting or McEnroe not knowing the rules about foot faulting. Did he really just say that it doesn't matter if he touches the line because he jumps when he serves?

WTF was that last foot fault call?!?! That wasn't even close.

Now it looks like he foot faults the next time but isn't called. This is ridiculous.

Roddick usually "apologizes" when he hit one in off the top of the net.

But not when down 2 sets to 1.

He needs every point he can get when Tipsarevic is serving.

Who's cheering so loudly for Tipsarevic?

I know Mac didn't look good stumbling around about the rules, but I'm not sure I would be calling a guy in his league out about it. That might be one you just let slide.

Yea normally I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, but that was pretty ridiculous. That'd be like Bill Cowher retiring, being in the booth, and not knowing that the football has to cross the goalline and not the player or something ridiculous like that.

Obviously I'm not completely writing the guy off, he's forgotten more tennis than I'll ever know. I just thought it was ridiculous that he wouldn't know that.

Agreed, Roddick was not on his A game, but the way Tips was blasting winners, good God...
