I think Olympics are 2 out of 3 until the finals. So, somebody like Inser could knock him out there, 7-6, 7-6. A bunch of players will skip Canada and Cincy if they go to Tokyo.

Who'd have thought all these years ago anyone could surpass Federer let alone two guys from the same era

Heck, I thought Sampras' 14 was untouchable. 20 years later and he is just another great player.

Djokovic had 1 slam when Federer broke Sampras' record.

Federer had the misfortune of having to play in the Djokovic era.

There, I said it.

Fed had the fortune of racking up majors during a weak era before Rafa and Djoko. He should count his blessings.

I still think prime fed was better on grass than prime Djok

Prime Fed was without a doubt the most graceful player I've seen. Novak & Rafa have a different gear though.

One would have to define "prime fed" in a very creative way to make that claim.

They changed the Olympics to best-of-three in the finals too. I hate that change.

26yo Fed vs. 20yo Djokovic

ETA: Prime Fed on grass lost to Nadal at Wimbledon.

One guy has eight Wimbledon titles and the other has five. The ONLY edge I would give career wise for Fed over Djoker is title of grass king, though I know Novak has some H2H there now, too. And I just can't see a prime version of him like 2006 or something losing to Djoker, but who knows.

I was never a Pete fan, but I actually think A level Pete is the best player ever, though I know his career accomplishments have long since been surpassed by three guys. And nobody is beating prime Pete on pre-2002 Wimbledon grass.

It just depends

With the current strings and balls Pete couldn’t compete. But with his strings and balls era, it’s between Pete and Fed

I think that Federer's legacy will be most aesthetic of all time not greatest player of all time. Least amount of effort required, perfect form and balance, creative all court game. He's not a savage like Rafa and Novak

Tsitsipas will be interesting on grass because he has a good serve and all court game, but I think he likes a lot of time to hit his shots. I think Fed will lose in like the fourth round to someone and he is basically done. If Zverev serves well, he might be a threat. I bet Rafa doesn't play.

Tsitsipas actually isn’t a threat on grass. His performance on grass albeit in a small sample size has been abysmal. Tsitsipas doesn’t have the return game to go deep in Wimbledon. He didn’t have a single break point opportunity against Djokovic in the FO final during the final three final sets of the match and that was on clay. If he goes up against a big server in the early rounds of Wimbledon, he’s going to be toast.

That’s because fed has been so good over the years that’s because he makes it look so easy….
