Actually...if you review that clip a few times you will see that the qb was going to be tackled in the end zone and even though he does throw the ball away from around the 3 yd line...he would have been tackled inside end zone by his backward momentum...he wasn't going to be sacked at the three or two or one yd line.
The idea of the penalty is to make sure that the sack happens and a loss of down occurs...now...its arguable that the penalty may have happened at the 3 yd line, but it is also evident he would have been sacked in the EZ. Safety in my opinion and its not that bad of a call....just a judgement. moral of the story? Don't let immobile qb get close to EZ backpedalling and unable to throw away.

I'm not the one posting pictures of the turf from a game that happened four years ago.

Are you really that ignorant?

One of the best non-calls I've ever seen. Sometimes refs mess up and actually get it right.
Agreed
Defender in front of the pass tipped it, because of that the defender defending the receiver could make all the contact he wanted with the receiver, and pass interference can not be called

I can cut officials slack on a lot of things, but 5th downs are inexcusable.

Not many people can be this dumb.

Still not as bad as the no call LSU pass interference in the end zone in 2004
For real. I'll never forget that shite.

Keenan Allen got an Offensive PI Call this past weekend on a catch where he was never even within a yard of the DB. He just juked him so bad that the refs thought he threw the guy down.

as a MIZZOU fan, it was definitely the Colorado 5th down play at the end of the game that allowed the Buffs to win. not only did they get a 5th down, but, it didn't appear that they scored on the 5th down play either...

I love when people post that picture acting like it's the actual mark his foot made.

its the mark, it just doesnt prove at what point he had indisputable control of the ball.

2004 Bama/LSU Game where Brown (UA WR) is shoved to the ground in the endzone and the LSU DB intercepts the pass.
Ref was looking right at the play
and never threw the flag.
The DB returned the INT to around the 30yd line.

Ref was looking right at the play

Horrible Horrible call, but rather it then a 5th Down, which won Colorado a National Title, why the frick is that not review able

Moot point forward momentum would have been outside the end zone

I'm still butt hurt about the 2007 OM-Bama game.

Go look at the replay. His foot clearly wasn't moving parallel to the sideline. Also, isn't it odd that the rest of the grass is in pristine condition considering that's where a lot of people would be walking and it was in the second half?
