ESPN leader board is showing +3
It will end up being +3 or +4 I think.
Ernie is +5 through 8

I think it's about time to stop living in denial and accept the fact Ernie is on his way out, and will likely never win anything significant again

Tom Lehman and DLIII both at -2 after two rounds. IN THE HUNT
Big Tex Chad Campbell at -3

Sad but true. He makes hitting a golf ball look so effortless. Truly awesome to watch.

Excited to see Davis Love having a good tourney so far. He'll probably shoot an 80 tomorrow unfortunately.

I like seeing my boy Phil in the hunt without having a good round yet. I predict he either goes real low and is near the lead tomorrow or he takes himself completely out of it with a 78. As always, there is no middle ground with him.

yep. he's realizing you don't have to be spectacular to win this. you have to play disciplined and not force things and avoid the disaster holes. he's right there

cut line still projecting to be +3

Alright, time to vent!!!!
I watched the Open coverage this morning from 3:00-4:00 AM and I have to say that it was the worst golf coverage I have ever seen in my life!!! Phil Mickelson teed off at 3:20, and through the first 3 holes (40 minutes) I saw exactly: his opening tee shot, birdie putt on 1, birdie putt on 2, and a putt from off of the green on 3. That was it!!! Never saw a single iron shot in 40 minutes from the featured player in the featured group. Bubba Watson, another fan favorite, was on the course and I never saw a single shot, nor mention, of him in the entire hour. They showed 10 minutes of the amatuer Tom Lewis from the practice green, walking to the tee, talking to the starter, kissing an old lady by the first tee, shaking hands with his playing partners, and basically just doing nothing on the first tee while waiting for his name to be called. They showed commercials once every 10 minutes. I know for a fact, because I was pissed and started keeping track of it, that from 3:40-4:00 there were 3 sets of commercials (made me really miss Masters coverage with their 55 minutes of golf per hour). I really don't think I saw more than 20 shots/putts in that hour.

There are a ton of players in striking distance. With 36 holes to go anyone at -1 is a legit contender.

at this point anyone who makes the cut has a legit chance to win.

I'm surprised nobody made a big run this morning, something like a 64/65. All of these people grouped together near the top makes it fun for the weekend. Instead of a 8-10 man race on Saturday, and a 3-5 man race on Sunday, we have 30 or more people with a chance to get hot and win on the weekend.

everyone who makes the cut will be within 7 shots of the lead. that is 70 people and ties with a chance to win going into Saturday we may have 20 guys on Sunday with a legit chance to win.

It's hard to tolerate ABC/ESPN's coverage of the Open championship. Back in the 70's, 80's they weren't too bad, but now, not good.

It was 3:00 AM in Baton Rouge, La. ESPN knows this. They know that Americans that are watching at that time want to see Phil, Bubba, Glover who was leading, etc. I wouldn't have been so upset if they were at least showing golf shots. But I'm not watching the Open at 3:00 AM to get stories. I know that in most majors we'll see some shots of the leader arriving at the course, or practicing, but this morning was abnormally long with that. It's not even the weekend yet, show some golf!!
