Went to church while the Phil and Clarke were on 12 and 10 respectively. Looks like Phil faltered, again. What happened to Dustin Johnson on the 14th? I've read one or two comments about it. Did he hit his 2nd out of bounds? How did he stand at the point?

He was 2 back and that could have been a swing hole for him. He blasted his second shot OB and it was the swing for DC. Phil was already in the tank.

Hit it OB, He was done then as well. Clarke was just Clarke. Steady and mistake free. He did get some HUGE breaks though.

I wonder if Phil still stands by his "you have to win all four majors to be considered great" comment.

Thanks guys. This morning was fun when Phil made that great charge, but as soon as he missed the 2 foot putt he was done, at least judging by his scorecard he went into the tank after that.

Congrats to DC. A classy and likeable guy.

Thank you all for this wonderful tread. I think I'll go out to the range and hit some balls.

Enjoy the day, boys!

Yeesh can Rick rielly just go away and never come near another golf course.

"And he stared down every three footer!" Wow, you couldn't of thought of something better than that in a montage.

I'm out to fellas. It's been a fun thread.

I wanted an American to win, but short of that Clarke was the best winner possible. Pure class!

The Best Man won this one for sure. My hat is off to DArren Clarke. I became a huge fan of him this week. He is pure class and his golf was the steadiest of any man this weekend. Incredible focus, patience and execution. It is quite fitting that he was man of the hour today. Mickelson gave a mighty charge on the front nine and Clarke never waivered. The eagle he made to match Mickelson's to go back on top was freaking clutch.

My hat is off to Clarke.

Yes. he was in the fairway and hit it in the one spot on the hole you can't ----way FREAKING RIGHT!!!!

At that point he was two strokes back at -5 to Clarke's -7. The ending may have been a bit more dramatic had DJ just made par there instead of Double Bogey. Mickelson was jeckle and hyde. front nine was unreal golf and then he could not make a putt within 5 feet to save his life. Too bad. I'm very happy for Darren Clarke---he deserved this more than anyone else because he played the best all week, but Phil and Dustin took the pressure off him on the final 5 holes and let him moonwalk backwards in the claret jug.
