The NFL is getting unwatchable and the games are longer than an MLB game.

So many freaking commercials, it just sucks the life out of the game! I don't understand how fans put up with this?

An average NFL games has 20 commercial breaks with over 100 commercials!

An average professional football game lasts 3 hours and 12 minutes, but if you tally up the time when the ball is actually in play, the action amounts to a mere 11 minutes.

That's from last year games, I'm sure it's worse now more than ever.

Anyway those that complain an MLB game is so long and drawn out the fact is, they're actually 'in play' more often.
Here are the averages:

*Through 1,054 games the
American League saw games at
3:04:17

while National League game pace was at
3:00:46.

This years totals.

The next NFL commissioner could revolutionize the game day experience, with a well executed sponsorship 'plan', just sayin, there needs to be some changes!

Aren't college games longer, with all the halftime BS? Anyway, just watch Redzone. The end of the 1:00 games today was ridiculous.

they need to just put ads on the sidelines and/or jerseys like soccer and get rid of all the ad breaks.

Yes! And that's what prompted me to start this thread.
At the LSU game last night my 7 daughter asked my why they took so many breaks, and I told her, because the game was on TV.
She actually like watching and going to rugby games, because of the pace. It's a shame what they've done to the game (football) It just sucks now....

you know people like to watch full games when their team is playing, right? they aren't just going to wait for highlights to come on.

After the Saints first touchdown today, they went to commercial, they didn't even show the extra point?
I know that don't sound like a big deal, but I'm just wondering why....

Anyway I listen to the radio while watching the Saints play and as soon a commercial break comes on I flip to the RedZone.

I have NFL Rewind. Allows me to watch any game that has been played to date this season. I can watch the full broadcast without commercials or a condensed version that shortens the game to about 45 minutes by cutting out everything except the actual play and a handful of replays.

I just don't watch that much TV. I'm sure people love it, but I can't justify it.

NFL games are too short. The clock runs way too fast since it doesn't stop after first downs.

I love those four hour autumn SEC slugfests on CBS.

Yeah I'm sure it's a big part on why Soccer & Rugby are growing in popularity here. Once you start watching games that don't have all the commercials breaks it's hard to go back to watching commercial ball.

I actually spent most of the day yesterday watching Rugby matches as opposed to the NFL.

I just fast forward through all the commercials. Makes the game much more enjoyable.
