do you breath in or out when you're putting???
I asked a golf buddy of mine when he was grinding and it screwed him up for the rest of the round...

Tiger becoming average is one of the most compelling stories in sport.
And by "average" I mean by his standards. He is winning tournaments and I am sure the Chris Strouds of the world would kill to have his wins. But the wins he is getting are the ones he does not give a crap about. The fact that he tightens up and folds in big tournaments is amazing and a fascinating train wreck.
Golf is better with him chasing Jack. And I WOULD like to see him get another one to make it interesting again. The fact that the #18 is all he cares about and he is struggling is like Jordan shooting 40% free throws and air balling the final shot against the Jazz.

For the average fan I'll agree. For people that actually give a damn about the game, no. It makes no difference.

He's had a historic run. The wins won't be touched. But he won't touch 18.
That isn't to take away from his talent by saying that. His best isn't enough to dominate the field anymore. Everybody else is getting better. New talent is coming after him.
It only gets tougher.

He will never admit it publicly, but firing Butch Harmon was the first of his mistakes.
This year is make or break in my mind as to whether he has a chance to catch Jack. Three of the majors are being played where he has won before. I'm not sure about the Open, I don't think so.
If he doesn't win at least one, then you can stick a fork in him. He's done in my mind.

This. I'm watching golf either way. When he withdrew, I didn't take off. I wanna see the most competitive golfer.

maybe, but he had a better winning % under haney than butch. i think his problem is really not trusting his new swing. i watched his entire range session on saturday. he hit a baby draw just about every time. on a rope. got to the course and I didn't see one baby draw off the tee.

Actually it's 20 (Jack's 18 majors + 2 us amateurs)
And/or 82 wins. (Snead's*82 wins)
He gets to either, his place as the greatest will be undisputed. Right now there's a 50/50 split on whether TW is not already the greatest.

This is true for most of those who frequent these threads. We aren't a "casual fan". I love watching Tiger play good golf, but I also love watching Rory or Scott or Phil play good golf.
For selfish career reasons (and my love of the game), I would like to see Tiger go on another tear and create a mini-Tiger boom. Or Rory. If Rory went on a Tiger-like tear, the sport would have a boom.

On TGC this morning they showed him warming up and he showed zero signs of pain or discomfort. He would be the guy in the paint that always fakes the charge. Maybe what Haney said about him in his book isn't so crazy.

That's because he was playing shitty and not hurt. Dudes a douche on so many levels.
What did Haney say?

That's true. People who post here and in the golf thread are more than casual fans. But when he doesn't dominate, threads noticeably fall off.
Tiger fans are just different people.

He talked about how Tiger liked to glamorize his injuries because it made him fell like a real athlete.
